Our skin gets greasy due to excessive sebum production, jojoba oil, in particular, reduces this production. Environmental factors such as temperature and humidity have a terrible effect on the skin where water is retained. Dry air would hit the face and evaporates the moisture, thereby, making the skin dry and scaly. In fact, even if you wash your face frequently, the skin loses its moisture. Therefore, when the upper layer of the skin loses water, making it dry and prone to any skin allergy, jojoba and coconut oil would do wonders for the skin. These oils are present in many beauty products due to their miraculous properties. Let’s look at these oils separately first.

Jojoba Oil

As vitamin E goes well with the skin as antioxidant, jojoba oil is perfect for it. It helps the skin to fight back the oxidative stress caused by certain pollutants and toxins, that we are exposed to daily. Directly massaging a few drops of jojoba oil to the skin daily would create a protective layer and lock in the moisture. In addition, it also acts as a natural sunscreen.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil works as an anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and moisturizing oil. It has nourishing fatty acids, vitamin E, lauric acid and certain healthy fats that are astonishing for the skin, keeping it healthy and smooth. Mixing it with some other essential oil would make a wonderful moisturizer for your skin.

Note: For some people, coconut oil is best for rest of the body than directly applying to the face because it can clog the pores as it is quite thick and “hard to pass”, while for some people it is not a big deal and instead keeps the face skin soft. It all depends upon your skin type and what suits you the best.
