DIY Natural Face Wash For The Dry Season

Stop trusting those toxic face and body washes that are available in the market, rather try making this DIY natural face wash for winter with homely ingredients.

Winters can create havoc and potentially disturb the normal moisture of our skin. The dry air outside can take away all the moisture from our skin making it itchy and dull. Winter rash with scaly rough patches is extremely common for this dry season. As the temperature drops, the body will decrease the assembly of natural oils and leave the skin malnourished. Moisturizing creams can make us feel better. However, they solely squash the dead skin and stop it from shedding and don’t nourish the skin from deep inside. Due to this, it’s required that we discover some natural remedies. Therefore here is a DIY natural face wash that will retain moisture and keep your skin nourished all day.

DIY Natural Face Wash

Ingredients

  1.  Honey 2-3 tablespoons
  2.  Lemon juice 1 tablespoon
  3.  Glycerine 2 tablespoon
  4.  Olive oil 3 tablespoon
  5.  Rosewater 2 tablespoon
  6.  Baby wash 4-5 Tablespoon
  7.  Aloe vera gel 1 tablespoon
  8.  Vitamin E oil 2-3 drops

How to make

  1.  Add 2 tablespoons of honey, 2 tablespoons glycerine, 3 tablespoons olive oil and 2 tablespoons of boiled water or rose water in a blender.
  2.  Blend the above ingredients so as to form a pulpy mixture.
  3.  Aloe vera gel and vitamin E oil are optional. You can add it to the blender in order to retain more moisture on your skin.  (Optional)
  4.  In order to have lather in the face wash, add 4-5 tablespoons of baby wash. After adding baby wash, stir the mixture smoothly. Do not over stir as it will become too foamy.
  5.  Add a tablespoon of lemon juice as a natural preservative.
  6.  Store the face/ body wash in a pump bottle dispenser (container).

How to apply:

Tie your hair back and wet your face with lukewarm water. Lukewarm water helps to open up the pores and clean them of any dirt or debris. Apply the DIY natural face wash and gently use your fingertips and massage in a circular direction so as to clean your pores. Wash it off with cold water as to close the pores and pat dry your face with a microfiber towel. Now, to deeply nourish your skin, even more, you can apply a DIY moisturizing cream afterward.

You Can Use This DIY Natural Face Wash As A Body Wash Too, Follow The Steps Below:

You can directly add a few drops of body wash in your bathtub. If you are using a loofah then gently wet your body and add a few drops of body wash on the loofah and apply it all over your body, rinse with lukewarm water. Do not scrub your body excessively as it can create skin rashes. Pat dry your body with a dry towel and don’t forget to moisturize your skin.

Note:  Do a patch test before implying this face wash in your daily routine. Apply it on your elbow and check for any allergy or irritation, if you see any rashes discontinue using this face wash and see what is in the wash that didn’t suit you. Afterward, substitute or remove the ingredient and continue using the face wash regularly.

1. Honey

Due to its moisturizing abilities, it is your best friend in winter and it repairs the skin by making it softer and smoother. Honey has an anti-aging property that can restore the lost elasticity of your skin by increasing the collagen. It removes wrinkles dullness and makes the skin glow.

2. Glycerine

Glycerine locks the moisture in the skin and heals irritation, windburn, rashes in the skin. It has the property to tame the dullness and removing the dead skin cells and enhances the texture of the skin.

3. Olive Oil

Olive Oil has an anti-bacterial property and therefore controls the bacterial growth on the skin. Some research even shows that applying olive oil can even back you from cancer-causing cells due to the UV radiation. It is a natural cleanser and it can help you remove eye makeup and acne scars.

4. Rosewater

This natural toner can maintain the PH level of the skin smoothens the skin. It helps in reducing the size of pores on the face; larger the size of pores means more dirt accumulating on them and more breakouts.

Aloe vera gel and Vitamin E oil can retain the moisture for the entire day and make the skin smooth and plumpy. A pinch of lemon juice can make the skin feel fresh and also work as a natural preservative in the face wash

The face washes or body washes that are available in the market contain chemicals that can worsen the condition of the skin in winter. Some face wash may suit you in a particular season and make the skin vulnerable in others. The requirement of skin will change from season to season so it is better to know what your skin wants.  Homemade products have fewer side effects unless you are allergic to its components.
